TEXTUS IN SITUS
In the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun in Morocco, the fabric is a typical element of the landscape and becomes a type of trace of the activities and the culture of the region.
Used by the inhabitants with a pragmatic intention, they come in different forms.
Fabrics of five meters long are worn by women as everyday clothing. In oases, this material is found outdoors on the walls of houses, and used to separate small agricultural fields from private properties.
The photographs illuminate this visual aspect of the region by capturing the fabric as texture and matter in harmony with the arid landscape of the desert.
This range of visuals comes in two formats: posters and printed fabrics.
The printed fabrics represent the documentary photographs of the fabrics in their initial environment. Posters are photographs where new fabrics with numerical style patterns, and are staged in the same landscape.
